Ryan Metcalfe Ryan Metcalfe is the managing director of theatre production consultancy and visualisation studio, Preevue. Credits include Harry Potter and the Cursed Child (New York, Germany, Melbourne, Toronto), Bat Out of Hell The Musical (London), Come From Away (Toronto), Moulin Rouge! The Musical (London), further projects with Ambassador Theatre Group, Sonia Friedman Productions, Mirvish Productions, Barbican Centre and LW Theatres, Chichester Festival Theatre, the Royal Shakespeare Company, and the Royal National Theatre. Ryan co-produced a digital adaptation of Shakespeare’s Romeo & Juliet, using xR technology to develop and film a virtual production with a full West End cast and creative team. This production streamed online in February of 2021 to rave reviews from the public and critics alike, with The Guardian calling it “Trailblazing” in its four-star review. Metcalfe was also the lead developer for the Bat Out of Hell The Musical augmented reality app, which created unique AR experiences for audience members and fans of the show. Ryan and his work with Preevue have been featured in publications including The Stage, LSI, Live Design, BroadwayWorld, and The Guardian, and he has spoken at conferences and events including The International Theatre Engineering and Architecture Conference, PLASA, and Immersive Architecture Asia.
